Culturally sensitive support for anxiety, depression, anger, substance use and life transitions — in English and Arabic.
Hello, my name is Anan Abuwarda.
My interest in psychotherapy comes from both personal experience and my academic background. Having lived in different countries and been surrounded by diverse cultures — Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia — I have developed a strong interest in understanding people within the context of their lived experiences, relationships, culture and life circumstances.
I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, stress, life transitions, or concerns related to substance use and addiction. People often come to counselling when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected or unsure how to move forward.
My approach is collaborative, client-centred, strengths-based, humanistic and culturally sensitive. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you understand your patterns, build practical coping strategies, and take manageable steps toward meaningful change — at a pace that feels right for you.
