Family Therapy

Family therapy involves a whole family, or several family members, all meeting with a therapist. Family therapy can be helpful if a family is having difficulty getting along. It can also be used when one family member has a problem, and family relationships may be contributing to or maintaining the problem. In many cases the problem may be exhibited by a child, but this is not always the case.

Family Therapists help family members find constructive ways to help each other. They work in ways that acknowledge the context of people’s families and other relationships, sharing and respecting individuals’ different perspectives, beliefs, views and stories, and exploring possible ways forward. Family Therapists thus not only support change with individuals but also in their relationships in the family and beyond, so children, young people, adults and/or those important to them are supported in continued recovery.

We are happy to provide service either in-person or online.
